A Beautiful Movie

Last night I happened to watch this movie - SEARCHING. I was blown by this movie. It is a thriller and a very nice movie.

A happy couple have a daughter. Father has the habit of recording videos of events that take place in his daughter's life and saving them on the computer. When the daughter comes to high school, the mother passes away with cancer. After about two years, one fine evening, the daughter goes missing.
The actual story begins when the father begins his daughter's hunt.

It is a beautiful story of how the father starts the hunt and what better place to begin than the Computer.

Will be able to find his daughter or not? Please do watch to know the story.

Movie Review

Out of the four choices of movies we had to watch at the Theater, we chose to watch - India's Most Wanted.

This movie stars Arjun Kapoor in the lead. The Story is about a hunt for India's Most Wanted terrorist who is wanted in all bomb attacks. So Arjun Kapoor with 4 others, sets on a hunt to catch this terrorist. From Bihar to Nepal, the hunt begins. The chase begins with the five heroes on a hunt.

Recommendation: Medium
Rating: 3.5/5

The plot is small, so is the movie. It's about two hours. So there is no unnecessary stretch. Watch it, if you can!

A Phone Call Away

I have known my Bestie or must I say BFF - Ani, since our 11th Std. We have practically known each other for half our lives. We have grown together. Now, when I look back, I truly feel blessed that I have someone with whom I can share it all.

We have made it a mandate that we shall talk everyday and we connect on various topics that we discuss most days. And, we both know that we are just a call away.

The feeling that we can pick up our phone and start a conversation. It's essential to have one such bestie that you have all grown up with.

Here's to my Bestie!!!

Arabian Nights

I was at a bookstore yesterday. Just browsing books, but with an intention to pick up a book definitely. The joy of walking in a bookstore is in no comparison to anything else. I can spend hours at the store and I do it with no qualms whatsoever. Nothing was any different yesterday.

Yesterday, I happened to spot - The Arabian Nights - Volume 1 and it had been such a long time that I had read this book. So I picked it up with sheer excitement to start reading.

This book is my next read and any book to onset a new journey comes with tiny butterflies in my tummy. They are already fluttering inside, while I finish my current read and start the next read.

A Lovely Writer's Workshop

Last week I received an email wrt a Writer's Workshop being conducted today. I love any meet that happens involving writers. So I just had to sign up. Not only did I sign up, but I signed up my mother as well to accompany me.

So, both of us went along to this two hour workshop. It was conducted by Madhumita Bhattacharyya. Out of curiosity, I signed up and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. She turned out to be pretty fabulous and a lovely orator. I enjoyed the session.

She is the author of,

1. The Masala Murder
2. Dead in a Mumbai Minute
3. Goa Undercover
4. Murder at the Temple

Now, I have lined up these books to my reading list.

Back To School

A few days, I caught with my classmate from school. she is my oldest friend. Have known her since my High School. And, it is always lovely to catch with her. We usually catch up near school and sit and chat up for a long time. But this time we decided to do something slightly different. We walked into our School. After all these years, both of us went inside the majestic gates of our school. It felt like yesterday we were walking inside school deciding what we would all be when we passed out of school.

We saw our high school class rooms, our auditorium, the basketball court, our quadrangle. Clicked a few pictures for memory sake. It's the same beautiful feeling even after all these years to be back in school, even though we were just visiting.

No wonder, it is said, School Days are the Most Golden Days!

GOT FINALE

GOT - GAME OF THRONES - aired its last episode on Monday. It's the end of an epic series. I must say I am so disappointed that there is no more GOT. I so shall miss it.

But I didn't like the ending at all. I did not expect Daenerys to just die like that. Jon Snow doesn't get the Iron throne either. But the chain got broken. Bran Stark gets on the throne and becomes the King of the six kingdoms.. Sansa Stark gets her own kingdom and Arya Stark is off on her own search.

With that, GOT is done and dusted! I am going to miss it like the millions in the world.

With Love

My aunt, who happens to be one of my closest ones, was in Scotland for a month. As usual, like always, very lovingly she asked me what I wanted. Shamelessly, I said I wanted a bag.

She just returned from her trip. I had gone to meet her today, and lo behold, she got me such a nice bag. Its a beautiful blue and pink tote. Pink is one of my most fav colors and she of course knows it. But what is to be appreciated is the thought that goes in picking it up.

Of course, I will flaunt it and of course my aunt is one amazing woman. Not because she got me a bag, but she is extremely dear to me.

P.s: Something similar to my bag, not the exact one!

My First Christian Dior (CD)

One of my cousin's lives in Canada. About two years back he had sent me a gift for my birthday, which I happened to collect yesterday.
I was so flabbergasted when I opened the present. I received,

1. A Swarovski Stud - Beautiful Rose Gold
2. A Christian Dior Lipstick - Bright Pink
3. A Christian Dior Glow Addict

It's my first time with Christian Dior Product and I am absolutely thrilled to possess it.

A Movie that Moved Me

I sat to watch a movie sometime back. It was titled - The Note. Randomly I started watching this movie on Prime, and my god, it was a brilliant movie.

This movie starts with a struggling writer whose column isn't doing well. A plane would have crashed few days back and she sees a note floating in water in a plastic bag. She picks up the note and her hunt begins. The note is written from a passenger on the plane that has crashed. Now, she wants to get the note to the person to whom the note is written.

Watch this movie to know the end. It's beautiful and heart touching.

A beautiful watch!

A Day Well Spent

A few days back I connected with one of my cousin's on Facebook. We hadn't connected at all in these years and I must say it was a very surprised connect. We exchanged our contacts and of course we connected on Whatsapp. We go chatting and it was really interesting. We planned to catch up a few times, but somehow those plans tanked.

Last week we decided we would catch up this week and today was the D-day. My mother invited him home for lunch and dinner and he sweetly obliged. It was so good connecting with him and I must say he turned out to be such a sweet one.

We got talking and had a million conversations in the entire day. We had so much to talk about we just couldn't shut our mouth. We played a few games, had ice cream and overall it was a day spent very well.

So lucky to have connected to this cousin of mine who is going to be treasured for life!

Something for my Grey Cells

Books are my favorite. They are my best friends. Today, I was browsing at a book stall. I was as always lost among them, when one book in particular was beckoning to me. This book - Autobiography of a Yogi, captured my interest. I landed up buying this book. This journey is going to be food for my grey matter and I cannot wait to embark upon this journey of a Yogi.

Autobiography of a Yogi - Paramahansa Yogananda.

Keep Calm & Carry On

I find it hard to remain calm all the time. There are a few times, I cannot fathom as to why I lose my calmness, but I do. Now, here is something that I have been trying to get to do - Stay Calm most times, if not Always, but I haven't been a cent percent successful. This is something that I really intend to master with all my heart, mind and soul.

Today, I happened to have a conversation with one of my friends who remains calm all the time. I asked her how is it that she remains calm most times if not all the time and her response was astonishing. She told me, she doesn't waste her energy losing her calmness all the time, but she uses that energy when it is really needed and essential to lose it. Then the impact is really strong. And here I am wasting my energy unnecessarily losing my calm with no desired results.

Now this is something worthy to ponder - Keep Calm & Carry On!

Movie Review

SOTY 2 - I clearly wasn't thinking when I got dragged to watch this movie. Phew!

Total disappointment - Tiger's acting skills are under utilized. The two newbies are alright. The story isn't strong. The songs aren't catchy. Overall, worth a 3 hours of headache.

My First Telugu Movie - Theater Time

About an year ago, one of my closest friends recommended me to watch a Telugu movie of Mahesh Babu - Bharat Ane Nenu. That was my first movie on my laptop and there has been no turning back. I have enjoyed movies in Telugu ever since.

Maharshi released and my friend and me just had to goto watch this movie. Our history of Telugu movies started with Mahesh Babu movie and our first movie of his together- we grabbed the chance.

But three hours was just too long. It started well and by the time it ended, phew! NY to AP, the story takes a big turn; Corporate CEO to farmer. A message to take away - Farming & Farmers, was thoughtful.

What's Different?

We have come across many people who are so clam in every situation and that most definitely includes my spouse; and it doesn't stop me from pondering over this calmness. How do they do it? They barely lose their cool, but on the other hand so many of them lose it before anything starts.

Given any situation, they have a calm exterior. The expressions never change, but the mind works furiously. I was reading an article and this is what it said,

"Calm people are like ducks - they are calm on the surface, but they are furiously paddling beneath the surface of the water!"

A statement that made complete sense. Now that's some food for thought!

Gopalaswamy Betta

Himmada Gopalaswamy Betta - this is one of the finest places to visit. On the top sits Lord Krishna, where devotees throng to visit.

After parking the car, one has to line up to get on a bus that will take us up the hills. And boy, that is one drive of a good lifetime. Winding curves, beautiful scenery gets etched in our minds. Once we get on the top, the hill is covered by mist. Himma means Mist in Kannada.

The lord looks so majestic in all his glory, that the effort is worth every bit.

Into the Wilderness

Bandipur - Have been wanting to go for a while and it finally happened a few days back. Bandipur safari was something that I have been waiting to do. So off we went to this place.

Reached by 8:15 A.M. Rushed to get our Safari tickets and got into the bus. As we were the last passengers, the bus started. As we went, we spotted loads of Deer. As we went further, we saw a few pea hens. Not to miss the Mongoose. And, then we spotted a beautiful peacock with its feather open completely. It was a sight so beautiful, that I managed a  far shot.

We went for an hour almost, but we couldn't spot a Tiger or an Elephant in the wild. But still worth a visit, just for the flora and fauna!

IT IS FINALLY HERE

I wanted to watch Game Of Thrones - Season 8 together. But, it so happened that everyone around me started spoiling it. Hence, I got on to start the finale of GOT.

Till now there are five episodes aired and I finally caught up with them. I can proudly say I  am up-to date.

So all you GOT fans, go catch up. There is one last episode to complete this mega epic series.

I do want to start reading the whole series of books once I watch the last episode!

Namma Metro

Today I happened to take metro to save time and avoid traffic. I usually take 1 hour to 1.5 hours to reach North Bangalore. But today I decided to board the Metro. Must I say, the ride was simply superb. It took me about 22 mins to reach my destination. My joy knew no bounds.

Metro in Namma Bengaluru has made life a lot more easier for Bangaloreans. To beat this insane traffic, the metro is the best respite.

I intend to take the metro and totally enjoy this joyous ride to beat this deadly traffic.

Another Very Interesting Kannada Movie

This is my Second Kannada movie this year - BELL BOTTOM. A very interesting title. I pulled a friend with limited Kannada language knowledge to watch this movie with me. This is a thriller movie and I absolutely love thrillers.

Bell Bottom - Detective Diwakara loves being a detective. Right from his childhood days, he loves detective movies and books, but his father wants him to be in the Police. His father is in the Police. So he finally joins the Police due to his father's pressure and is very unhappy. He gets his first case and he solves it. He gets a second case and the whole story is how this detective goes about solving it.

This is a really good thriller.

Stories Vs Poems

For the longest time I penned only poems. But a few years back, I ventured into prose. But it wasn't up to the mark. Three years back I joined a writer's meet and from then on there has no been turning back on prose.

Today, when I look back and I am asked to choose between Prose Vs Poetry, I would never be able to do that. My love for prose and poetry is unbiased. I cannot choose ever. As much as I enjoy penning poems, I love spinning stories on paper. All the characters in my head come together on paper and the amalgamation is unfathomable. That's the power of writing.

I will continue writing poems and prose and will let my words do the talking!

Most Awaited Movie

Oh yes I had to watch this movie - Avengers End Game. The movie of the year. Along with the movie I had the pleasure of experiencing IMAX for the first time too. And must I say, I was in awe of this experience , well it is an understatement. I was thrilled beyond words - Avengers End Game + IMAX experience + 3D - It was the perfect amalgamation.

End Game is an amalgamation of all the 21 Marvel Studios movie and what a fine job in bringing together all the characters in this final end game.

Captain America, Thor, Antman, Hulk, Iron Man, Black Panther, Spider man and what not. All of them versus Thanos and how it all fits together in the end.

Nail Care

I am someone who has been painting her nails since I started college. I love long nails and enjoy painting them. I change my nail colors twice a week without a fail. I have been growing my nails for a while now. Over a period of time, my nails have gotten brittle and break away easily, which is extremely disappointing.
But I have noticed something - when you grow your nails continuously over a period of time, the nails don't grow healthy. They chip away, get brittle and lose its shine and color. I am not sure if it happens to everyone, but it for sure happens to my nails.

So here are a few tips that I have started following for my nails,

1. Keep trimming your nails.
2. File them and maintain them well.
3. Get a meni/pedi periodically.
4. Let your nails breathe - Don't paint them all the time.
5. Paint them well.

Here's to healthy nails!
