CONFIDENCE UNLIMITED

This is another own experience of mine.. Man, I really have loads to fill my blog.....

I was in my XI Std. I'm sure you will all agree as to how it feels to be out of school and step into a brand new world called "COLLEGE"....The very word college for a X Std student brings in the following to look forward too,

a. FREEDOM FROM UNIFORM ( If its someone like me, then 3 different uniforms..)

b. No restrictions

c. BUNKING CLASSES

d. LINCENSE to a license

e. Brand new wardrobe

f. Pocket money

What not.. The list will be endless and I would have meandered away like a tiny bubbling brook...

Now coming back to my college life... Like everyone I was on cloud nine to step into this brilliant world.. I had a whole lot of friends but stuck close to one girl. She was my best friend....

I was from an all girls convent and entering into this strange world of mixed breeds was a little wierd in the beginning....There were a couple of them with whom we used to chat a little...

The fun in college is endless if you know how to enjoy...It differs from one individual to another....

There was this big time announcement in college... The most awaited of all times... ETHNIC DAY... A delight to all the girls and a feast to all the guys...I was excited too.... Only for the reason that I had draped a saree only once before in my fifteen years of life----SCHOOL GRADUATION CEREMONY.....This would be the second time....I was super excited... Now this excitement was cemented with a whole stack of problems... My mind started revolving like a turbulent sea....I was so lost in thinking that I didn't realise the dates had been changed already in a few minutes... Luckily our seniors announced again... This process of you schdeule - we reschedule between seniors and super seniors went on.. I kept a count till the dates changed four times, after that I lost pateince... Then it was confirmed that the coming saturday would be ETHNIC DAY..

What a relief... All the girls started deciding and you know the typical girly conversation went on and on and on....

Saturday - D Day arrived... I had thought of a simple voilet silk saree to drape... ( Cotton's pastrel shades were still afresh...) I got ready with lots of butterflies in my stomach...

Finally, I reached college.. Our college gate will be swarming with all the drones waiting for their bees and would be bees... And this day being SAREE DAY, I was a little baffled... The crwod seemed lesser than usual... Further down the corridor I realise nobody is wearing a SAREE..... Now what is happening... Which college have I entered.. Gates were correct... But why weren't they in a saree...

Look at my self confidence, I happily walked to my class, still sighted none in saree... This must be some kind of a bad joke... A real bad one... Anyways, I walked into class.... My class bustling with noise all the time seemed very serene.... I walked into class and there was pin drop silence...

All of thems tood up to wish GOOD MORNING MAA'M... By then, they realised its Me... Each one looking at me queerly.. I mean very obvious right... Me out of all the people walk into class that too draped in a saree... What a shock they were in for...

I pulled my best pal aside and asked her what was the matter... She told me that it had got cancelled last evening again...I was like dumbstruck out of embarrasment... But my friends very sweetly walked me down and accopanied me home to change... A sweet gesture that indeed was....

I decided never to drape a saree again in my 11th.....

P.S: I guess I didn't stick to it.. Confirmed it and draped it the next time....
What a laugh I have till date when I think of my adventures in college... Indeed hilarious....
