INDEED SPECIAL

Today indeed a great day ---- Yes, it's my BIRTHDAY!!!! For Me, it's a special day.....
A day I wait for an entire year, ONE WHOLE YEAR......
Today, finally the day has arrived... FEB 2nd, I just love this date...
As usual I was flooded with calls from morning....Sms all the way...Since it's a working day, I was rushing to office....

I reached office and and I need to use the biometric to enter. As usual I used it and instead of displaying my name.............The display was HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Well, that was such a simple gesture, but the sweetest I have come across. Indeed a beautiful gestures on your DAY!!!!

PHONE 'e BRAIN

This blog is dedicated to PADDY, for making me post yet another blog.

Paddy (I'm sure if you've read my previous blog, you'll know this guy) and myself usually chat a wee bit from office so as take a break from work. We chat or call once a while at work.
On 29th, Jan as well we were chatting for sometime. Post lunch session and Friday afternoon, now I'm sure most of you'll agree that the mood swings are high, but not to work but to party out.

Paddy on Friday was out for a Team lunch and didn't come back until 3 in the afternoon. Then he came around 3:30 and pinged me. After a while he stopped again. So I tried giving him a call, but he didn't receiver my call. I thought he must be busy with work and I got busy too.(It was one of my close colleague's last working day).

After a while I got a call from Paddy. I as usual picked it up with high enthu (Usual HIIIIIIIIIIIIIII PADDYYYYYYYYYYYYY which continues for at least a min ---poor guy)
I did the same, but the response I got from the other end was very different. Here it goes,

PADDY CALLING....
Me: HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII PADDYYYYYYYYYY
Other Side: Hello
Me: Kya hua Paddy (What happened Paddy?)
Other side: Hi, this is Prasad here..
Me: Oh hooo.....(I look at my phone, it shows Paddy, now what the hell happened)
This is Prabhat's (Paddy's forgotten real name to me) number.
Other side: Ma'am he has left his phone in the meeting room and gone.
Me: Oh okie. He is.......(I tell him in which domain he works)
Other side: I will return it back Ma'am. Thank you so much
Me: That's ok.

And he hangs up.

Now my great pal PADDY in the mean while is pinging me and totally unaware about his lost phone.
Fianlly he got his phone back and ALL THANKS TO ME!!!

P.S: Paddy I'm sure you'll agree.... right???

EPITOME OF FRIENDSHIP

GIRLS FROM AMES - This were the three words I was hell bent on... For those of you who don't know, these three words are a title of a novel by Jeffrey Zaslow. I accidently happened to come across this novel and from then I was determined to lay my hands on it, but I wasn't lucky. I never found this book in Bangalore in any of the book stores, be it big or small.

I once casually mentioned it to my bro in the USA about this bok and asked him to try it there.

It took nearly an year before I received that book. This time my bro didn't come to India, but he had sent me a surprise. YES!!!! THIS VERY BOOK WAS THE SURPRISE. I was exuberant. I kept looking at the book feeling so happy. (BRO THANKS A TON!!!)

I couldn't wait to start with the book.

For those of you who don't know about this book, here it goes.

It's about friendship shared between 11 girls (now 10) over a period of 40 years. Now what is so great about it!!! Well, the greatness lies in the way they have maintained it.

Their friendship started in a place called AMES, hence the title. It's splendid freindship that bonds these girls together.

It's a pleasure to read small anecdotes in the book like how the girls have treasured letters that they have written or small hand written notes passed in the class.

Memories you share with friends are for life. They are the most treasured possessions in one's life.

This book goes on to show pictures of all the girls in junior school to graduation to college to how they look now.

Each page you read, you'll fall in love all the more with the book. Every word written is so beautiful. The way they started off their freindship, the way they hung around, how they kept in touch even after moving out of Ames, how they kept it up post wedding, post kids etc, is just mind blowing.

When you read about this group, you'll all the more wish to be a part of a group like this.

Their re- union each year in a friend's place and how they travel back nostalgia is superb. The pics they bring, the notes, small gifts they share is just beyond words.

Friendship is something which everyone needs in life. But to have one friend of a group of friends to lean on, is like an elixir to life.

This book is a must read for all, for Zaslow has brought this group for us to read.

I would like to add, though I may not have a group like Ames Girls, I'd like to thank my friends - Ani, Shy, Juicy, Dummua, Paddy, Ashu, Champ, Scientist, Komala, Delphi Dude for being there when ever I needed them and all those whom I have met in my life and have made it special.

ANI you are and will remain my BESTEST FRIEND FOR LIFE. Thanks to DP for his Vishwabharathi, else we'e never have met.

I'm glad I have you for LIFE. Cheers to our 11 years of Friendship!!!!!

ALL IN A DAY

Well, another day, yet another incident....

These days I leave office at 6:15 P:M. I traverse half of the city to reach back home. (That's how far I travel to work). This mega event happened just yesterday.
7:05, my colleague and me were standing in stop no. 2 waiting for a bus. (Oh yes, now I have a partner to travel with). Both of us were jabbering away to glory. She is Ramya's replacement now.
There was this amazing guy, dancing away to glory in the stop. (I'm sure liqor does have some power, of should I say lots....) He was speaking to all the girls in the stop..... And it went something like this...Hello all,,,, I'm Ravishankar follower.... Blah Blah Blah.... My colleague and me were wondering as to why none were belting him..

7:15 P:M, our bus came and we were more than happy to duck this awful scene and protect ourself in those majestic public transports....

We both were discussing what a relief it was and I think we spoke too soon.... This guy had boarded the same darned bus... Christ!!! At 7:20 in the night, who wants such mega events happening....HE started again.... Hello ladies.. Don't fall in love... Thank you all... This goddamn line he kept repeating a zillion times......

Finally someone shoved him out of the bus.....

Relief regained back.....

PEEK A BOOK

I guess i'm coming back after a long time. Looks like either my frequency is reducing drastically or i'm running out of thoughts. (I so hope that the later doesn't happen in the near future!!!!)

Anyways coming to back I was...A couple of days I was browsing books at Landmark, a paradise in Namma Bengaluru for ME.....I had successfully picked up a few books at a throw away price since a sale was on. Brimming with joy, reason being, at the right place at the right time!!! (Book is my addiction and for those of you who don't know, read my previous blogs BEFORE CONTINUING....)

The joy of being amongst books, is a different feeling altogether which only another species like me will understand and agree upon. I had picked four hard bound books and the best part being all were new authors ( In the sense it was new to me as I would be reading it for the first time).

I was just looking through for more and I found this RED COVER PAGE book staring at me with eyes longing to be mine forever...Well I must confess that just for the fact that it was RED, I couldn't resist and without a blink I picked it up. ( IT WAS NOT CHETAN BHAGAT's book by the way....)

I read the preface and found it pretty interesting. NOTHIN FOR YOU MY LOVE, i still love you.

A typical title with an awesome cover page - RED. The picture also pretty sweet, heart beating all over (Not in the literal sense for those of you who are my first time readers, a little exaggeration adds more spice to it...)

There I go, I got it billed and bought that book to be brought along with me.

When I started reading it, it was a typical girl-meets-boy-falls-in-love types. But as I proceeded it was a little different; boy-mets-girl-elder-to-him-fall-in-love types. But when I finished it, it had a very different ending....(No more. Lazy ones can start reading. IT'S HIGH TIME.)

Now the purpose of this blog was not to give a brief about the book I read. (You guys can jolly well go read it yourself....)

Behind the cover page, the author's mail I.D was printed.

I jotted down to I.D to mail the author and appreciate the book. I casually mailed this guy and appreciated his work.

The best part was this guy mails me back. It felt really good. The mail was really sweet and nice.

Well, that is it...Don't expect more....

But this new work place of mine was a wee bit different from my previous workplace...

So my brain is tuned to swiping in...

All of a sudden, new work place.. Everything is new... Definitely the brain needs to be re - programmed, which takes a litlle longer to sink in...

This new work place of mine has BIOMETRIC access.... I'm sure all of you know what that means....Finger Impression.....

I had got my new access in the morning...I very smartly used it...

6:16 P:M, brain would for sure have stopped working.. It's working from 6 in the morning....

I happily walked out of office, as the door was open..

DESTINATION SPLENDID

Atlast D Day had arrived after a lot of debating back and forth. The place was finalized but the problem ahd been the DATE. In all contexts, I guess date plays an enormously significant role(Agree to agree or agree to disagree). Finally it was decided 14th Nov. '09. Yes, Children's day.

Destination: Sangama

Date: 14th Nov.

Travel: A Pleasure

Accompany: Family on board

Now read on to know about this trip.

8:15 A:.M --> My mum and me waiting at our pick up point. For all our luck, it was raining that day and was super chill. Me as usalu packed like an Eskimo, mum as usual, dare to face the cold types. Our pick up was scheduled between 8:15 to 8:30 A:M. But little did i know that meant a long wait....

8:30 A:M --> Frantically I'm pacing in front of the petrol bunk... Damn, why hasn't this bus come???? I see no sign of it....

8:45 A:M --> My phone beeps with a message from my colleague that the bus hasn't started from office yet. Wow!!! Office is like an hour's journey from my pick point minus the traffic and peak hour jams.

9:00 A:M --> I sigh and sit on some stone. Shit man, don't they have anything called time sense... Or all their clocks frozen. Gosh, it's so darned cold...

9:15 A:M --> My cribbin knew no bounds. My mum has oodles of patience, I don't even have an iota of it and damn who the hell likes waiting.. Not even for my hubby would I wait I guess....(Or you never know...:)

9:30 A:M --> Still no sign. I pulled out a Kit - Kat and passed it on to my mum. Both of us were experiencing butterflies of different versions inside our tummies....

9:45 A:M --> Is the bus ever going to arrive?? My mum was also kind off getting irky by now... It was almost an hour and a half and still there was no sign....

10:00 A:M --> Finally after walking a few mts away, we boarded the bus....I mean it was awesome. The leg space was unbeleivable. I could stretch my legs without an obstacle.....It felt so good getting a bus for a long distance travel which I never do....

10:05 A:M --> My colleague had reserved our seats. I sat next to her and mum on the other side....Atlast we had started...

11:30 A:M --> There were African Elephants in all our tummies...Finally they stopped at this brilliant place which was a temple - cum - park. There was Lord Krishna, Lord Ganesh & Lord Hanuman. Huge structures of these God's were erected and it was brilliant. It was splendid a place. There was this rally cute stray duck next to me. It was so cute. Finallly, after my photo session (My new interest these days is Photography, so was honing my just acquired nascent skills......), I finished my breakfast which consisted of my FAV - UPMA and other not so interesting things.

1:00 P:M --> We finally reached our destination and got dwon form our buses.

1:05 P;M --> Here comes the ultimate touch.. We are supposed to cross the water and how are we doing it?? We have to sit in something called a "THEPPA"...Man, it was ht first n one of it'd kind experience for both my mum and I. We finally managed to get into the wobbly thing and sat. There was 3 more people along with us. The guy with his oar started rowing. It was such a mind blowing feeling. I think everyone should try this old age-modern adaptation technique, it feels over the top.

1:07 P:M --> The so called rotating tranformer brought us near the rocks, from there we had to wade in water. The water was till my knee level. We all took out our shoes and started walking in water. That is when it dawned on me that I have this mistaken notion that I walk fast. the actual test is I guess when you walk in water. I feel I'm walking but I'm still there itself...There I see my mum walkin as if its a paved road....

1:10 P:M --> I finally reached the shore types... From there we trekked a wee bit and reached a flat surface. We spread our mats there and arranged food... We started playing games....

3:00 P:M --> Smashing food was served. We were all ravenous. Had a great time eating.

4:00 P:M --> We had some official game.

4:15 P:M --> Headed back to water and played. Landed up collecting pretty shells.

5:15 P:M --> Back in the THEPPA.... It felt so good again....

6:00 P:M --> We boarded the bus ad took our respective seats. Started on our journey back..

9:00 P:M --> Alighted the bus and started home.

This was the most amazing official trip I had been too. The memories are worth a lifetime....

MIS - PASS

After a long time, here I come again... Seems ages since I blogged....At last I finally thought of something to be posting out here...

Sunday, I had some work so ventured out to Indiranagar. Usually the public tranports are pretty empty unlike weekdays. You can actually manage to sit too...

I left home as I was running a little late, got into a bus. The bus was empty, so found a seat to sit. Had an unfinished book in hand so started. I got down one stop before my stop and started walking. After a few seconds I realised I was a stop behind mine. Walked up the distance to were I was actually supposed to board the next bus. I waited a while before I could get my next bus.

I hopped into my next bus, which was way too empty by tis regular weekdays standards. I sat in the seat and I saw a conductor standing there so I said Pass.... But that guy just nodded his head as if he could care less... I was taken aback a wee bit, neverthless I continued reading my book....After a few seconds, I see another conductor asking me... I was so zapped that I had happily told somebody else when the actual conductor was asking now....

I couldn't help but laugh.......

OUT OF SIGHT

It's been a really long time since I posted a blog... Here I come after a long time....

Two of my best colleagues at work quit...Now what is there to post a blog on that... Read on...

One of colleagues had joined after I had joined work...She was wee bit a fresher.. Ramya and me got close to this chik.. She seemed pretty sweet and nice...We got freindly with her and she got close to us..So the three of us used to literally freak out at work.. It used to be great fun...

It so happened that we I fondly started callin the newer of my colleagues CAT.. She used to remind me typically of a CAT...I told Ramya that observe her closely and she resembles a cat so much.. And the best part was even she started feeling she looked like a cat...Now isnt that great.. Two feeling the same is much better than one.. Cat's facial expressions were similar to a real cat..

After that sometime another colleague of mine started feeling that she looks like a cat.. Cat used to kinda get so buuged that all beacuse of me people feel she looks like a cat but she used to be very sportive.....Taking it ay her stride types...

The best part was yesterday was her last day.. When she was leaving in the eveing, my H.R was talkin ot her and all of a sudden she says , "Oh My God, You so look like a CAT"!!!!!

Well, well , well no comments......

ZEAL TAMPERED

The world seems so dull,
The very trigger dead,
Nothing more left to pull,
He stand on nails of bed,
For in vain search of his sweetheart!!!!

He stands all alone now,
The very meaning within erased,
Like an arrow depreived of its bow,
His very soul blazed,
For in vain search of his sweetheart!!!

A cluttered mind,
Thoroughly battered heart,
Nothing to un wind,
Her intent was clear to part,
For in vain search of his sweetheart!!!

A dream broken forever,
Thoughts in utter despair,
Were they never meant to be together????
A sight very rare,
For in vain search of his sweetheart,
In every sense they had meant to par!!
